I was fortunate to grow up in an area of the country where many artists and craftsman resided, including family members, and also during the bicentennial when handcrafts were being revived and celebrated. I was able to study with local artists, and participate in the music, arts, and theater programs in high school. I continued to develop my artistic and hand craft skills when obtaining my Bachelor’s in Industrial Design and through working in architectural lighting to design custom lighting fixtures for new and historic buildings in Philadelphia. After moving to northern Virginia I did scenic design for many local community theaters. That experience led to the decision to obtain my Masters in Architecture and enabled me to work with design/build companies and trades for residential clients.
I truly enjoy creating spaces, temporary or permanent, that provide imaginative and positive experiences and memories for people.
